Jatson Chumig Educational Corporation (JCEC) was approved by the IRS as a 501(c)(3)non-profit in 2009. Please click here to view our tax filings with the IRS.
From the beginning, 1993 until 2007 ... Jatson Chumig relied only on the sale of goods at its gift shop made at the four handicraft workshops; Incense, Paper, Clothing and Shoes for revenue. Also during this time, individuals made donations to Lhasa Jatson Chumig Welfare Special School. In September 2007, a new web site was launched which accepted online donations for the first time. These donations were made to JCWSS. In 2009, a new non-profit organization was formed in The United States of America called, The Jatson Chumig Educational Corporation. The U.S. Government and the Internal Revenue Service gave a letter of approval for JCEC to be a 501(c)(3) non-profit. All donations to JCEC go directly to Jatson Chumig in Lhasa, Tibet. 96% of all donations make their way to Jatson Chumig to help the children. 4% are fees charged by Paypal and/or Bank of America for wire transfers. Jatson Chumig Educational Corporation has no employees and no salaried staff. It consists solely of 3 board members who volunteer their time, talent & treasure to help raise funds for Jatson Chumig School & Orphanage in Lhasa, Tibet.
