The video (below) took place early in the morning on Losar. After hanging the new prayer flags and chanting prayers for the New Year... This ritual was the Blessing of the New Year for Jatson Chumig.
Before you think this is a "fancy place" because of how the kids are dressed ... These special clothes, (Chupa's) are all handmade by the Handicraft Workers at Jatson Chumig. They are worn just a few times a year; specifically on Children's Day (June 1) when all the kids celebrate their birthday because being orphaned, they have no idea when they were born. Chupa's are also worn on Losar to celebrate the New Year. On both occasions, the kids are not only dressed up, but sing and dance and perform. Jatson Chumig is a happy place! LOVE
